I've had my password for about a year now. Is it bad to keep the same password for a long time? Should I change it? I'm just wondering for security reasons, you know?

As often as you tell it to anyone or suspect that the account has been compromised.

I would recommend monthly. Especially if you have lots of "friends". I quoted friends because some people aren't always who they say they are. That is a different story. Google up Social Networking Engineering.

Tip 1: I would recommend keeping it totally different. I've heard stories of people loosing their MySpace accounts and a whole mess of trouble came after.

Tip 2: Avoid logging into MySpace on public networks, that you don't totally know. You don't know who is sniffing packets in the network. MySpace, is a popular one for packet sniffing. Packet Sniffing, is where a hacker will run software and intercept all data transferred. For example, login data, google searches, etc.

Tip 3: Use unique password. Don't share it with any other account. Most hackers will assume you will have the same password for all. If they can guess one password for one account, they will take over all accounts.

Tip 4: Don't share it. Even with your boyfriend or best friend. You never know if they wont betray you just once.

Tip 5: Use capital letters, numbers, and possible other characters. Avoid capital letters and numbers in beginning, middle, and end. That makes the strong password.

depends how strong is your password. If your password is "password" then yes. The other way I would say yes if you used accessed myspace from somebody's computer your no longer friends with or an ex. The reason is that if you clicked remember password or save password they have access to it and can find it in the temporary internet files if they know what to look for.

otherwise you should be good.

It's myspace, so who cares.

You can keep the same password forever, as long as it's a pretty good password.

But then on the other hand, no password is uncrackable.

Don't piss off anyone who can crack your pass and you'll be fine.

If your confident it secure and nobody knows, feel free to keep it! Of course it's safer to change it every now and again though. I'd say just to be sure change it every few months or whatever.
