how do you do stuff on myspace?

i only know how to change the background. how do you add friends, or put pics/vids on your page. instead of changing your whole layout, how do you put little pictures on your page (if you can). please explain in detail how to do all this. and anything else that you think i should know.

Myspace works on html and css so if you want to do interesting stuff then you might want to study up on those. To place images on your profile you need the url of a picture.

Here is an example of one (this link takes you to a picture of a dog and nothing else)

you put that url between this html tag



And place that where you would like it to show up on your profile (about me,music, etc.)



To add videos to your profile you need a code as well, websites like http://www.youtube.com and http://www.gofish.com have the codes pasted on the side or bottem of the video. The code usually looks like this.







Its kind of long but what can you do. Paste the code were you would like to to show up (like the picture).



To add friends just go to the profile you wish to add and look for "add friend" and click it. You can search friends by their email address, name, or display name. If you know their url you can type that in your address bar and it will take you directly to their profile.

To add people click search at the top of screen and search by name or email or browse users. One you find someone you want to add click add to friends on their contact table.

Now to add graphics search myspace graphics on yahoo and look through sites till you find any you like then copy and paste the code that is with it. To make your own open a photobucket account at photobucket.com and after you upload any pics or graphics they will make a code for you. Photobucket also lets you upload your own videos or you can use videos off of youtube, which have codes on the right next to the video.

You can also make custom contact tables and network banners using generators found on most myspace graphics sites. Or you can just use a premade one.
